THE ORIGINAL "SPRING FLING SANGRIA".

Hi BarBackers! Here's another Original Recipe for you all: We call it the "Spring Fling Sangria"

This recipe is built in a chilled, large glass, and stirred gingerly to complete. This is a perfect cocktail to make and enjoy during Spring and Summer when the produce and ingredients are in prime.

(These are the portions required for one drink. Simply multiply for extra servings. Have Fun!

SPRING FLING SANGRIA

  1. YOU WILL NEED: A *BARBACK TOOL, ONE LIME, ONE ORANGE, CINNAMON, ONE STRAWBERRY, PROSECCO, ST. GERMAINE OR YOUR FAVORITE ELDERFLOWER LIQUEUR, ORGANIC STRAWBERRY JAM, REAL MAPLE SYRUP (TRADER JOE'S HAS SOME NICE SELECTIONS), ICE, CLUB SODA AND A LARGE GLASS TO SERVE THE DRINK IN.
  2. *USE YOUR BARBACK GARNISH KNIFE TO SLICE ALL OF YOUR FRUIT. 
    SLICE THE ORANGE AND THE LIME INTO HALVES.
    SLICE THE REMAINING LIME HALF INTO ONE LIME WHEEL, AND A COUPLE OF LIME WEDGES.
    SQUEEZE 1/2 OF THE LIME INTO THE GLASS AND BOTH HALVES OF THE ORANGE INTO THE GLASS.
    SQUEEZE FRUIT THROUGH A SCREENED STRAINER (IF YOUR FRUIT HAS SEEDS) ...OR USE A HAND-JUICE PRESS IF YOU HAVE ONE. IF YOU DON'T HAVE THESE ITEMS, YOU CAN ALWAYS JUST SQUEEZE THE OL' FASHIONED WAY: BY HAND.

  3. IN A SMALL CUP OR BOWL, ADD 1 TEASPOON OF STRAWBERRY JAM AND ONE TEASPOON OF ROOM TEMPERATURE MAPLE SYRUP AND STIR WITH A SPOON UNTIL THE MIXTURE IS A SMOOTH SYRUP. YOU WILL NOW HAVE SOME HOME-MADE "MAPLE-JAM-SYRUP", ADD IT TO THE GLASS. THIS WILL CREATE A NICE BALANCE AND CUT THE ACIDITY OF THE ORANGE AND LIME JUICE.
  4. ADD 1/2 OUNCE OF YOUR ELDERFLOWER LIQUEUR INTO THE GLASS. 
  5. STIR ENTIRE MIXTURE WITH A BARSPOON. FILL GLASS 1/2 FULL OF ICE. STIR AGAIN.
  6. ADD UP TO 6 OUNCES OF PROSECCO INTO THE GLASS. TOP WITH A SPLASH OF CLUB SODA.
  7. DIP YOUR LIME WHEEL IN A SMALL AMOUNT OF CINNAMON. (*OPTIONAL: TOAST CINNAMON LIME OVER BAR-TORCH FLAME OR STOVE FLAME FOR A MINUTE OR TWO).
    NEXT PLACE THE CINNAMON LIME FACE-UP ON TOP OF YOUR DRINK.
  8. PLACE ANOTHER LIME WEDGE ON THE RIM OF THE GLASS AND SINK ANOTHER INTO THE MIDDLE OF THE COCKTAIL. (*TIP: USE THE BARBACK GARNISH KNIFE IN THE "90-DEGREE POSITION" TO PUSH THE LIME DOWN.)
  9. *USE YOUR BARBACK ZESTER TO ADD SOME NICE LIME OR LEMON "ZEST-CONFETTI" ON TOP.
  10. PLACE YOUR STRAWBERRY GARNISH ON THE RIM OF THE DRINK.
  11. SIP AND ENJOY YOUR STRAWBERRY SANGRIA... A.K.A. "THE ORIGINAL SPRING FLING SANGRIA" !
