The Original "Grand-Gold Frozen Margarita"

Posted by

Hi BarBackers, and Happy "National Margarita Day"!

In honor of this occasion, we have decided to share our favorite, secret, home-made margarita recipe. This recipe can be made either shaken and strained over ice, or up-in a chilled glass as well. We have decided to feature the frozen version, since Spring is right around the corner and frozen drinks will be in season.

(These are the portions required for one drink. Simply multiply for extra servings. Have Fun!

GRAND-GOLD-FROZEN MARGARITA

  1. YOU WILL NEED: A BARBACK TOOL, ONE LIME, ONE LEMON, ONE ORANGE, GOLD TEQUILA, GRAND MARNIER (OR TRIPLE SEC), SUGAR, A MIXING GLASS, A SMALL BOWL, A BLENDER (OR A SHAKER TIN), A SPLASH OF WATER, ICE, AND A LARGE GLASS TO SERVE THE DRINK IN.
  2. *USE YOUR BARBACK PEELER TO PEEL A NICE LONG RIBBON OF A FRESH ORANGE PEEL GARNISH AND PUT IT ASIDE FOR LATER.
  3. SQUEEZE 1/2 OF EACH INTO A PINT MIXING GLASS: FRESH ORANGE, FRESH LEMON AND FRESH LIME.
*USE YOUR BARBACK GARNISH KNIFE TO SLICE ALL OF YOUR FRUIT.
(FIRST, SLICE THE LIME IN HALF, THEN SLICE A ROUND "LIME-WHEEL" GARNISH AND PUT IT ASIDE FOR LATER).
SQUEEZE 1/2 OF EACH FRUIT THROUGH A SCREENED STRAINER (IF YOUR FRUIT HAS SEEDS) ...OR USE A HAND-JUICE PRESS IF YOU HAVE ONE. IF YOU DON'T HAVE THESE ITEMS, YOU CAN ALWAYS JUST SQUEEZE THE OL' FASHIONED WAY: BY HAND.
  4. IN A SMALL CUP OR BOWL, ADD 1 TEASPOON OF GRANULATED SUGAR AND ONE OUNCE OF HOT WATER AND STIR UNTIL THE MIXTURE IS A SMOOTH SYRUP. YOU WILL NOW HAVE SOME HOME-MADE "SIMPLE-SYRUP" TO ADD TO THE PINT MIXING GLASS. ADD SYRUP ACCORDING TO YOUR SWEETNESS PREFERENCE. (ADD THE ENTIRE 1 OUNCE MIX FOR A NICE BALANCE AND TO CUT THE ACIDITY OF THE LEMON AND LIME JUICE).
  5. ADD 2 OUNCES OF YOUR FAVORITE GOLD TEQUILA INTO THE PINT MIXING GLASS. CUERVO GOLD IS ALWAYS AN AFFORDABLE OPTION AND IS A GREAT TEQUILA FOR ANY MARGARITA.
  6. ADD UP TO 3/4 OUNCE OF GRAND MARNIER ORANGE COGNAC INTO THE PINT MIXING GLASS.
  7. FILL THE PINT MIXING GLASS TO THE RIM WITH CRUSHED ICE, OR SMALL ICE CUBES.
  8. POUR THE ENTIRE MIXTURE INTO A BLENDER, AND BLEND UNTIL SMOOTH.
  9. POUR SMOOTH BLENDED MARGARITA INTO YOUR FAVORITE GLASS. (YOU MAY SALT THE RIM OF THE GLASS IF YOU LIKE BY RUBBING A LIME WEDGE AROUND THE RIM, THEN DIPPING THE WET RIM IN A SMALL PLATE OF KOSHER SALT).
  10. *USE YOUR BARBACK ZESTER TO ADD A NICE "ZEST-CONFETTI" ON TOP.
  11. PLACE YOUR ORANGE PEEL GARNISH AROUND THE INNER RIM OF THE DRINK.
  12. ADD YOUR "LIME-WHEEL" GARNISH AND SOME OTHER LEMON OR LIME WEDGE GARNISHES IF YOU LIKE.
  13. SIP AND ENJOY YOUR "MARGARITA MONDAY"!
